The Ending of 2021
Cheers to the end of another incredible year full of beautiful changes, lows, highs, opportunities, friendships, and love. Lots of love.
If there’s anything this year has taught me, it’s (i) resiliency, (ii) gratitude, and (iii) peace.
(I) Resiliency:
Despite uncertainties in life, embarking in a new city to start over was an exciting new chapter that came with several challenges. New routine, new friends, new culture, and new responsibilities. There were moments where I felt alone because the environment I was in felt unfamiliar and uncomfortable. It also didn’t help that I didn’t go out as much— I was trying to find myself in an unknown territory. However, the more uncertainties there were, the more I learned to ‘go with the flow’ and practice mindfulness. Reality is I was learning to detach from the outcomes on how my life should be and allowing flexibility — just like water that takes on many different forms.
I’m only 26 and the world is still my oyster. The older I get, the more beautiful life is becoming. And it’s because I am still full of hope, love, and time. I continue to write because this is a documentation on my continuous personal growth in where I started and how far I’ve come. Let me tell you — it’s been an incredible view and I still have yet to reach the peak of the mountain.
(II) Gratitude:
Grateful for being alive (breathe)
Grateful for being able to feel (heart)
Grateful for my loved ones (family)
Grateful for having a roof over my head (home)
Grateful for seeing the beauty in life (sight)
(III) Peace:
You find peace when you meet your highest self. Truth is, peace is equivalent to love. The more you learn to love yourself and every part of you, the easier it is to uphold boundaries to protect your inner peace. Rule of thumb: if the issue won’t affect you in five years, don’t spend more than five minutes thinking about it.
2022 Mantra: To Embody Love.
