Personal Renaissance - Be Your Own Inspiration

The definition of Personal Renaissance according to Colin Wright:

“During these time periods great strides are made in many different aspects of one's life as a mental renaissance takes place…the cold, hard, dark age of the mind is over and a new light — the light of innovation — shines down upon your mental landscape, warming your neurological serfs and deeply tilling the rippling soil of your brain's intellectual wheat fields. You become your own Michelangelo, your own inspiration, your own generous benefactor. When you are feeling up, you're really feeling UP, and as long as you can stay that way you will fly far beyond the rank-and-file.” - Colin Wright

My personal renaissance is a bit hard to explain but I’ll try in case you need to find your own.

Redefine:

To redefine yourself is to take a pause and assess. Does this make you happy? What can you change to be happier? What is it that you need? … Take Control. You can’t control your environment but you can control your emotions, thoughts, feelings, actions … Yourself.

Redefine who you want to become.

Dreams:

Make them BIG. If you do not dream big, you won’t get there.

My dream? Make an impact in this world.

Believe in the IMPOSSIBLE.

Goals:

Your first goal should be to be happy.

Your second goal should be to be happy.

Your third goal should be to be happy.

Risks:

COME AT ME WORLD type of attitude.

Enough Said here.

Opportunities:

Opportunities knock on your door every day. Take them seriously.

Every day is a new opportunity.

An opportunity to find your purpose— to find what fulfills your needs.

Resourceful:

Quality > Quantity.

Surround yourself with people that will challenge you. That you know will go far in life just like you.

Find people that also make an impact and genuinely care for you.

Habits:

Never underestimate the strength of your body.

Try Yoga, try spinning, try going for a walk.

When you recognize the strength your body has, the fact that you can handle your own weight. Absolutely nothing will stop you.

I’d like to thank Nicole Serfass for suggesting this topic for my blog post. She’s a strong woman, kind-hearted, and deserves the world. Happy International Women’s Day Nikki!
