Malibu

I had written and saved the below poem in the “Notes” of my phone on January 17th, 2023

I’d be lying to myself if I said that he didn’t make feel nervous 

Although his cheesy smile gave everything away 

There was a sort of comfort towards him 

It sorta scared me 

I think about being by the ocean 

And yet we don’t know each other

Yet, I still imagine us walking towards the sunset together 

Next to you 

I think about us jumping up and down 

About you hugging me until I can’t no more 

Until our fingers and toes dry up from the water 

And then just laying 

Staring down at the sun’s rays

Looking into each other’s eyes

And just seeing through each other’s soul
