Emotions are high

I have to remind myself

You don’t belong to me —and

I don’t belong to you

But how lovely would it be if we did?

It’s been a while since my heart has raced

or my head spun for that matter

but to wonder if you wonder about me

that’s something else

I acknowledge that you have put in effort

And while I admire that

Is it enough?

Only time will tell
