‘Love’

Being honest with myself has been one of the most beautiful yet hardest things I’ve done to date. I’ve been meditating, reading, and writing to understand myself. And I share my journey of self-discovery in hopes others embark on their own journey, or continue their journey. What I’ve come to realize is that self-discovery is a life-long journey. In the following, I try to unpack the notion of ‘love’ in prose. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The day you are born, you’re tied to your mother (umbilical cord).

By nature, we are born wanting a tie to someone (partner).

We walk life wanting but never understanding our own needs (journey).

When we discover the cosmos within us (life).

We learn to expand and understand (knowledge).

And as you step into your true self (authenticity).

Embrace the good and bad parts of ourselves (acceptance).

Do the inner work to heal from trauma (karma).

You’ll uncover the love that flows within you (water).

This love rejuvenates the soul (healing).

Commits to authenticity (work).

Commits to self-growth (happiness).

Commits to the body (temple).

Commits to the mind (strength).

Only then can the love be pure (whole).

For when you share this love with others,

You bring the sun into their lives (energy).

Love will never hurt. So allow your love to flow into this world.
